I recently learned that someone I care about is currently unemployed and struggling to find a job. They have a couple of gaps in their resume, the most significant being about two years long. Unfortunately, they also don’t have a car, which limits their job options even further. I've been trying to help them as much as I can, but despite attending group interviews and performing well, they haven’t received any job offers. Their work experience is primarily in retail and fast food, which makes the job search even more challenging in this competitive market. I feel a bit lost on how to assist them further. I plan to help them get a car once they learn to drive, as I believe that will open up more opportunities for them. In the meantime, I'm looking for resources in the Southern California area that could help someone with gaps in their resume. If anyone has suggestions or knows of better places to seek advice, I would really appreciate it.
