Today I had an interview for a position I applied for about 16 months ago. The interviewer seemed to recognize me, and when I mentioned it, she confirmed that they haven't hired anyone yet. I completed the interview, but I was feeling pretty disheartened. I can't help but wonder why they are still interviewing after all this time. Have they already hired someone and are just being overly picky? On my way home, I saw a job ad for another position that I realized I had applied for about 8 months ago. It all feels like a waste of time. I reflected on how much effort I put into preparing for interviews—spending an hour getting ready and spending money on suits—only to face this frustrating situation. I'm seriously considering cutting back on my job search. If a temp agency reaches out, I might consider it, but for now, I'm feeling done with the whole process.
