I work at a tech company in California, and I've recently faced a tough decision regarding my job. The company announced a relocation, and I initially planned to move with them. However, after some thought, I've decided not to make the move. They set a deadline for when we need to be at the new location, and I'm feeling anxious about how to handle this situation. I informed my manager about my initial plans to relocate, but now I need to figure out when to officially give my notice. I'm worried that if I tell them I'm not moving, they might let me go immediately. I'm also considering filing for unemployment since I believe I can qualify due to the relocation. I’m unsure how to navigate this, especially with my manager likely asking about my plans soon.
