I'm currently working as a contractor for an out-of-state company, but I've noticed that my monthly paychecks are becoming increasingly delayed. I'm starting to wonder at what point I can consider quitting with just cause due to these payment issues. I'm not eager to navigate the unemployment process, but I am actively applying for other jobs. Also, I've been paying taxes for a long time, so I'm curious if contractors in California are eligible for unemployment insurance. I really need some clarity on this situation.
