I recently received a great job offer, but I'm still waiting for the background check to finalize and for a formal start date. Meanwhile, my current employer has signed me up for a three-day training session next week that focuses on the instrumentation we use. While this opportunity is beneficial, I feel guilty about taking it since it might serve my coworker better, especially since it won't help me in my new role. I'm considering putting in my two weeks' notice while at the training, but I'm unsure how to decline this opportunity without raising suspicion about my job search. I know it's risky to assume the new job is a sure thing until I have a signed offer, so I'm looking for advice on how to handle this situation.
