I recently applied for a job and received a text from the recruiter asking when I was available for a call. I was out at the time and responded about an hour and a half later, letting them know I was available to talk. However, I haven't heard back from them since then, and I'm starting to feel like I've been left on read. I'm unsure if I should reach out again or just wait. I find this situation a bit awkward, especially since I feel like they could have handled it better. I understand they might be busy, but it still feels unprofessional. I'm considering sending a follow-up text, but I’m not sure how to approach it without seeming pushy. Any advice on how to navigate this would be appreciated!

I just received an email from my casual contract job informing me that they are terminating my contract. This is my first job ever, and I'm feeling confused and worried about the situation. The last time I worked was on April 18th, which means I haven't worked for them in over three months. I had been keeping them updated about my availability, but it seems that wasn't enough. They want me to return my swipecard, which I plan to do, but I've also emailed them to ask for the reason behind the termination. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask this, but I feel like I need some clarity on what went wrong. I can't help but feel a bit ashamed about losing this opportunity.
