I recently applied for a position and haven't heard back, which seems to be the norm with online applications these days. I'm contemplating whether I should follow up in person or give them a call. I really want to make a good impression, but I'm also worried about coming off as pushy or not following their instructions. I've seen advice suggesting that reaching out could actually hurt my chances, so I'm torn on what to do next.
