I just received notice that my job has been terminated due to a debt restructuring at my company. I was initially informed that my position would be safe, and I believed I would be part of the team retained by the new owners based on verbal assurances. I’ve always had a strong relationship with the company and considered myself a loyal employee. Things took a turn when I noticed a double deposit in my paycheck one week due to an accounting error. I immediately reported the discrepancy and offered to return the extra funds. Then, out of the blue last Friday, I got the termination notice. It has left me feeling completely blindsided and scrambling for new opportunities over the weekend. I can't shake the feeling that some family members might be secretly pleased about my situation. I’m really frustrated because I thought I was finally making progress in my career. Losing my health insurance and the promised bonus for being a loyal team player feels incredibly unfair. I feel like I have no one to talk to about this, and I’m just venting my frustrations.
