I just got terminated from my job as a janitor at Worlds of Fun, and I'm feeling really lost about what to do next. I'm only 17, and this was my first job since the summer of 2025. The whole situation has been incredibly frustrating. I had an upper respiratory infection and followed the protocol as best as I could. I went to the scheduling building to hand in my doctor's note and let them know I wouldn't be able to work on Saturday or Sunday. However, I was still scheduled for Sunday and ended up with 34 points, which led to my termination. I had no way to call off through the employee app, and my manager hasn't responded to my messages. I feel like I did everything right, but now I'm left without a job and unsure if I can even use this position as a reference in the future. I'm really upset and just want to know what my next steps should be.

I'm currently working at a retail job and I'm feeling really frustrated with my hours. I started off strong, working 44 hours a week, but recently things have taken a turn for the worse. Last week, I only got 15.5 hours, and this week I'm at 29 hours because I had to pick up an extra shift. Next week, I'm down to just 5.5 hours for one shift, which is really not enough for me financially. I'm 17 and in my second year at this job, and I was hoping to get a promotion by now, but I was told I wasn't 'qualified' enough. This is really disheartening, especially since most people get promoted by their second year. I enjoy the work, but I can't keep going like this with such few hours. I'm torn between waiting to see if my hours improve, talking to the scheduling team, or just putting in my two weeks and looking for something else right away. I really need the money and I feel like I'm losing my mind with so much time off. Any advice would be appreciated!
