I received a meeting invite for a "Team Update - MUST ATTEND" scheduled for tomorrow at 8:00 am. The invite came from my manager, who is usually pretty relaxed, and it includes only his direct reports, about ten of us. Given the history of layoffs at my company over the past few years, I'm feeling anxious about what this could mean for my role as a senior principal engineer. I've been with the company for twelve years, so the uncertainty is hitting hard. I can't shake the feeling that this meeting might be about layoffs, especially since HR isn't included in the invite. I’m trying to stay open-minded and prepare for any outcome, but the tension is definitely building.
