Today at work, I had a bit of an unexpected moment. While I was going about my day, I noticed someone getting signed in for induction, and it turned out to be a person I had seen during a group interview for a different job I applied to. He didn’t seem to notice me, but it still made me anxious. I’ve been trying to leave my current position, which is quite chaotic, and I was worried he might recognize me and mention it to others. I know it’s probably just my anxiety getting the best of me, but it’s hard not to think about the worst-case scenario. I’ve been trying to remind myself that he might not even remember me, and even if he does, it’s not like recognizing someone from an interview is a big deal. Still, it’s hard to shake off that feeling.
