I recently received a job offer that would mean taking a $50,000 pay cut. Currently, I’m making a total compensation of $200,000, but my job requires me to be in the office five days a week, which involves a daily commute of 1.5 hours. The new offer is for $155,000, and it allows me to work from home three days a week. The culture at my current company is pretty toxic, while the new company is known for having a good work environment. I’m at a crossroads trying to decide if I should take the new job or stick with my current role. The flexibility of working from home and escaping the toxic environment is appealing, but the pay cut is significant. I’m considering making a list of pros and cons to help me decide.
