I recently encountered a suspicious job offer that used a technique called homoglyph or homograph obfuscation to evade spam filters. The message pretended to be from Amazon's Recruitment Team, claiming to offer a flexible online position supporting Amazon merchants with product listing updates. The offer included enticing details: an average work time of just 60-90 minutes daily over a 4-day workweek, potential daily earnings between $100 and $600, and a base salary of $5,300 for every 30 working days. They also mentioned complimentary training and up to 20 paid vacation days annually. It was alarming to see how the scammers replaced regular Latin letters with similar-looking Greek and Cyrillic characters to trick both recipients and automated systems. They claimed there were 18 positions available and encouraged individuals aged 20 or older to text a number for more information. I didn't engage, but it serves as a reminder to stay vigilant against job scams.
