    Feeling Got a Job Thinking

    I recently found a new nursing position and will be starting in three weeks. I'm currently working as the only nurse in my outpatient clinic, which has been quite challenging. I decided to give my employer a two-week notice, but I feel guilty about it since I'm the sole employee in my department. It’s tough being the only one here because I can't take PTO without the clinic having to close, which means patients miss out on care. When I return from any time off, I'm overwhelmed with work. While I feel bad for leaving my patients, I realize it's my employer's responsibility to ensure adequate staffing, not mine. I need to prioritize my own career and well-being.

    I received a verbal job offer after my interview on the same day, which was exciting. Later that day, I got a written offer via email, but it raised some concerns for me. The email only mentioned my annual salary and didn't specify my hourly rate, which I found odd. Additionally, the start date was marked as TBD, contingent on my response after I resign from my current job. I’m currently employed and hesitant to give my two weeks' notice without a clear, formal offer. The company seems legitimate, but the lack of a formal document to sign and the vague details make me uneasy. I plan to email them back to request a full written offer that includes my hourly rate and a confirmed start date before I make any decisions about my current job.
