  1. 1

After a challenging interview experience, I found myself constantly replaying my answers in my head, which only added to my anxiety. To combat this, I created a simple reset checklist that has really helped me refocus and move on. Here’s what I came up with: 1. I jot down the three questions I felt I answered the best. This helps me remember my strengths. 2. I note two moments where I think I could improve for next time. It’s a constructive way to learn from the experience. 3. If the interviewer seemed cold or disorganized, I remind myself to separate their process from my abilities. It’s important to not take it personally. 4. I send a short thank-you note only if I’m still interested in the role, which keeps things professional. 5. To maintain my momentum, I apply to at least one more job within 24 hours. This keeps me from fixating on just one interview. 6. I save one concrete story from the interview that I can use in future interviews. My biggest takeaway is that one awkward interview doesn’t define my future opportunities. I’m curious to hear what others do to shake off a bad interview and not let it affect their week!
