I’ve been struggling to get responses to my job applications lately, and I’m starting to wonder what I’m doing wrong. I recently worked as a checkout person at a grocery store, but I feel like my resume is just blending in with countless others. I’ve received feedback that I lack hard skills and that my experience is pretty basic, which makes me feel like I’m not standing out at all. I’m trying to apply for various customer service roles, but I’m not sure how to present my experience in a way that highlights my strengths. I’ve been told to focus on my accomplishments rather than just listing my responsibilities, but I’m not sure how to quantify what I did beyond the usual tasks. I’ve also been advised to clarify my job titles on my resume, especially since I was promoted within the same company. Should I list those as separate roles? I want to make sure I’m showcasing any additional responsibilities I took on. Additionally, I’ve realized that my profile reads very generically, and I need to make it more specific to reflect what I’m looking for and what I’ve actually accomplished. I’ve heard about using tools like Claude AI to help format my resume for applicant tracking systems, and I think I might give that a try. Any other tips on how to improve my chances would be greatly appreciated!
