I recently came across the Virginia Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Dislocated Worker Program and I'm considering pursuing the AWS Certified Solution Architect certification through it. I'm particularly interested in whether the program offers hands-on training, as my previous experience with training programs has been disappointing. Back in the early 2000s, I obtained my MCSE certificate, but the training was poorly structured—most of it was just basic computer skills like moving the mouse, which felt like a waste of time. Now, I'm looking for something more practical because I believe that having this certification could help me land my next job. I also attempted to get my PMP last summer, but it hasn't been helpful since most job listings require several years of experience, which I don't have. I'm curious if anyone here has completed the AWS certification through this program and whether it positively impacted their job prospects. Did you manage to find a job after obtaining the certificate? Any insights or experiences you could share would be greatly appreciated.
