I’m currently in a tough spot at my job where management has tasked me with creating an AI agent that is intended to replace my role. While I understand the direction they’re heading, it’s frustrating to be directly involved in a project that seems aimed at eliminating my position. Whenever I ask about my future after this project, I get vague responses about moving to roles that don’t really require my expertise. I've been actively job hunting for the past three months and have a few promising leads, but nothing is guaranteed yet. It feels pretty messed up to be helping build something that could take my job away, and I’m trying to figure out how to buy myself some time for my job search without making it obvious that I'm slowing down the process. I do a lot of manual editing and data compilation, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that I’m facing this situation, but it has come up quicker than I anticipated. Has anyone else dealt with something similar?
