Today, I received some shocking news at my job as a Data Analyst. After 3.5 years with the company, I was informed that there has been a major team restructuring, and my role, along with those of my teammates and managers, has been impacted. My last working day is set for October 31st. HR has given me the option to either resign or accept termination, with a severance package of six months offered in either case. This situation has left me feeling quite shaken, especially since I recently purchased a home. I’m unsure about what the best course of action is. Should I resign and leave on a clean note, or should I opt for termination? I’ve heard mixed opinions about the implications of each choice, especially regarding severance. I would really appreciate any guidance or advice from others who might have faced a similar situation.
