I’m currently navigating the unemployment process in Oklahoma, and I’m five weeks into my claim. I just found out that I need a doctor’s release to prove I’m eligible to work, which feels completely ridiculous. If I had known this requirement earlier, I could have arranged it in advance. It seems backwards to me; shouldn’t I only need a document if I wasn’t capable of working? Now I’m stressed about how to get this done quickly. I even joked about needing a doctor in the comments! I’ve heard that some offices can provide a quick note stating I’m cleared to work, so I plan to call my doctor’s office today and see if they can help me out with that.
