I recently received a rejection email for a job I applied to a couple of months ago, and it really highlighted the ongoing trend I've been noticing in the job market. My previous employer laid off hundreds of U.S. workers last year to offshore those roles, significantly cutting costs. It seems like this practice is becoming more common in the tech and white-collar sectors, and many people still think AI is the main culprit behind job losses. I believe offshoring is a major factor that isn't getting enough attention. After seeing the rejection, I can't say I'll be applying there again; at least they were honest in their communication, which is more than I can say for some companies. It's frustrating to see how the job landscape is shifting.
