Landed a Marketing Analyst Role After Surprising Reunion with Former Boss

I recently had a surprising encounter with my former boss at a large company where I worked as a Data Steward. I joined the company in December and was there until April. The first couple of months were challenging for me, and I acknowledge that my performance wasn't great initially. However, I managed to turn things around and had a solid 7 weeks without any issues or negative feedback. I even received some praise from colleagues outside my department. Then came my review, and to my shock, my boss terminated me on the spot. I was blindsided because I had never been informed that I was at risk of failing my probation. There were no warnings or reports indicating that my job was in jeopardy. I was simply told to pack my things. My family and a lawyer friend agreed that the way I was treated was unacceptable. I felt that even if my performance was lacking, I should have been given a heads-up. After my termination, my mom, who had a contact in HR, helped me submit my resignation letter, which was accepted. I then shifted my focus to job hunting, but it was tough. Out of the blue, I received a call from the HR head of my former company, who offered me a chance to return. I was eligible for an interview for a different position under a new executive, so I decided to go for it and ended up getting hired as a Marketing Analyst. I started my new role last Monday, and it's been going well. My new boss is supportive, and I made sure to disclose my disability this time, something I regretted not doing with my previous boss. Last Thursday, while waiting for the elevator, I unexpectedly ran into my former boss. She was shocked to see me and asked why I was back, implying I shouldn't be there. I simply told her that I applied and got accepted. It felt surreal, and I could sense her surprise. Now, I have a fresh start, and while I know I have a lot to prove, I’m grateful for this new opportunity that I didn’t even seek out initially.
