I've been working at my current job for almost two years now, and I'm feeling a mix of emotions. I truly enjoy the work I do at this organization, as it has a meaningful impact on the community. My boss is great, and I've learned so much since graduating college. However, I dread going to work every day. The team is small, with only 8 full-time staff members, and two of them are often off-site. This leaves me feeling quite isolated, especially since I'm the youngest by at least 15 years. The next oldest colleague is 40, and the others are in their 50s and 60s. While I get along with everyone, I miss having peers my age around. The physical location of the office adds to my struggles; it's on the outskirts of town, and the parking lot is in bad shape, making it hard to take walks or socialize. I don't have family or a partner nearby, which makes it lonely as I try to build a social life after college. I'm grateful for my job and the experience I'm gaining, but the quiet environment and lack of social interaction are challenging. I've been considering a move to a larger city, like the Twin Cities or Chicago, but I just signed a lease for another 11 months. I'm not sure what I'm looking for, but any advice or encouragement would be appreciated.
