I recently relocated to New York for a new job, and just a month in, I was laid off. Now, I'm facing a tough situation as I have to pay rent without any income. I found a nice place in Queens with a rent under $800, which I thought was a great deal for the area. However, I'm now stuck with 11 months left on my lease and struggling to find someone to take it over since the house is older and not many people are interested. The job market is quite challenging right now, and I've had no luck even landing minimum wage positions. I can't move back to my home state because I'd still be responsible for rent here. I'm feeling overwhelmed and unsure about my next steps.
