I live alone and I'm currently feeling overwhelmed by the stress and anxiety stemming from my toxic remote job. My boss has really undermined my confidence, leading to careless mistakes and a heavy emotional burden that feels like it's shutting me down physically. I'm actively looking for a new job, applying and interviewing aggressively, but haven't had any luck yet. To make matters worse, I'm facing a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) next week, which gives me 90 days to show improvement. Even if I do improve, I have no intention of staying in this environment. As someone who doesn’t have many close friends to lean on, I’m struggling to manage the stress and depression that comes with this situation. I'm reaching out to see how others in similar situations cope and stay positive while fighting this battle alone.

I had my mid-year review scheduled for last week, but it got canceled twice. This morning, I saw that it was rescheduled for tomorrow, and now my VP and the HR Business Partner are both included in the invite. I'm starting to feel really anxious about this. Given the current climate in tech, I can't help but think this might be bad news. It seems like meetings like this typically signal layoffs rather than promotions these days. I just hope it's not a performance improvement plan or something worse. I'll definitely update once I know more.

I've been feeling really overwhelmed lately, even though I'm still employed. The anxiety of potentially being laid off is weighing heavily on me, and it's affecting my mental health. I've been struggling all year with personal and work-related issues, and I feel like I'm just going through the motions at my job. I don't connect with my team, and I find myself forcing smiles and pretending to be okay just to get through the day. It's exhausting, and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep this up before I reach my breaking point. I know I'm not alone in this, as I've seen others share similar experiences, but it doesn't make it any easier.
