I recently interviewed for a Team Member position at Culver's and have another interview coming up on Monday. However, I also interviewed for a part-time Retail Stocking Associate position at Burlington, and the interviewer encouraged me to follow up if I hadn't heard back by Monday. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed because I don't know what to do if both companies offer me a job on the same day or if Burlington offers me a position before my interview with Culver's. If Burlington calls first, should I accept their offer and cancel my Culver's interview, or should I still go to the interview just in case? I'm worried about how long job offers stay open and fear that if I don't accept Burlington's offer quickly, they might give it to someone else. I'm also concerned about the pay. Burlington's starting pay is $13.50 an hour, while Culver's has a range of $11 to $16 an hour. Since this would be my first job and I don't have previous experience, I'm unsure where I might fall within that pay range. I hope to earn at least $15 an hour, but I'm worried Culver's might only offer me the minimum of $11. Is it appropriate to ask for a higher starting wage for my first job? I'm really looking for advice from anyone with experience at either company or in hiring in general.

I recently applied for a part-time stocking position at Burlington through their Paradox AI system, and I was surprised to find out that I have an upcoming in-person group interview. This is my first job application, so I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole process. I did some research and found conflicting information about Burlington conducting group interviews, which added to my confusion. I'm reaching out for advice on what to expect during the group interview and what types of questions I might face. I understand that even though I've never had a job, I need to demonstrate qualities like responsibility and punctuality, possibly using examples from my life, such as experiences from school or clubs. Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!

I recently applied for a Service Team Member position at Michaels through their careers website. I submitted my application over the weekend, and the job posting had only been available for about a day at that time. I'm now wondering how long it typically takes for Michaels to respond to online applications. Do they usually reach out via phone, email, or both? How many business days should I wait before I assume I wasn't selected? Also, do they generally send rejection emails, or is it common to not hear back at all? Additionally, I have a concern regarding the education section of the application. I listed my high school and college separately, but for the education level dropdown, I selected High School (HS) for both since I graduated from high school and am currently attending college without a degree yet. There wasn't an option for "currently attending college" or "degree in progress," so I felt I had to select what was available. I'm worried that this might look like a mistake and that it could negatively impact my application. Could this cause any issues, or was that the right choice given the options? Lastly, since this would be my first job if hired, I’m curious about what types of questions they usually ask during interviews at Michaels. I appreciate any insights!

I had an in-person interview today for a part-time Back of House position at Chick-Fil-A. They mentioned I should hear back by Friday, and if I don't, it means they've chosen other candidates. I dressed professionally and brought my resume and notes, and I expressed my preference for the BOH role, although I said I could also work FOH if needed. The challenge I face is that I have no prior restaurant experience, making this my first job. During the interview, I tried to stay engaged and polite, but I felt my handshake was weak and I paused a lot when answering questions. Some of my responses were quite basic, like stating that I work hard and take my responsibilities seriously. I also have a speech disability, which makes in-person communication tricky at times. I found myself looking away while thinking through my answers instead of maintaining eye contact. In terms of availability, I told them I could work 25–30 hours a week, ideally between 8 AM and 6 PM, and I was flexible with working 3–5 days a week. I asked about the training process and if they had any questions for me at the end. Now I'm wondering if I have a realistic chance of getting hired, especially since I lack experience. If I'm not selected for BOH, would they consider me for FOH without needing to reapply? Also, when I receive the call, should I expect it to come from the store's email or another source? I'm eager to hear thoughts from others who have been in similar situations.
