Today, I took a big step in my journey towards a mid-life career change. As a 46-year-old independent hairstylist and small business owner, I've been feeling a significant loss of passion for my work. It’s strange because I’ve always loved what I do, but lately, I find myself resenting the hustle and the constant need to leverage social media for business. Financially, I’m not where I want to be, and I know it’s largely my own doing. I’m over the hustle culture and am craving more stability in my life. I've started building a resume and diving into job boards like Indeed and ZipRecruiter, which is something I never thought I would have to do again. I really miss the relationships I’ve built with my clients and the joy of making people feel good, but I know I need to explore new opportunities. I’m looking for suggestions from anyone who has transitioned from a similar situation. I want to find a role that allows me to stay social and help others, but I’m also ready for a change. It’s a bit daunting, but I’m hopeful!
