Today was a tough day at work as my manager was laid off. He had been with the company for over 10 years, and now it's just the two of us left on our accounting team. He mentioned that the layoff was due to his performance, which surprised me because he always completed his tasks, even if he wasn't very vocal. I’m feeling uncertain about my own job security now and asked him if I should be worried. He encouraged me to stay strong and hang in there. Given the current economic climate, I’m contemplating whether I should start looking for other opportunities. It’s a bit daunting being in such a small team after a significant change like this.
