I was laid off recently and honestly expected the worst. However, I feel like I might be one of the lucky ones. I took a proactive approach right after my layoff, applying to jobs that matched my qualifications within 48 hours of them being posted. I made sure to tailor my resume for each application. I also reached out to friends and former colleagues who were incredibly supportive and helped me secure at least a few screening calls. Interestingly, the role I accepted came from a completely cold source, which I hadn't anticipated. I'm starting my new position on Monday and feeling optimistic about this new chapter.
