After a decade in my current job, I finally handed in my notice. I've been at this company for over 10 years, and honestly, I could do my job on autopilot at this point. I typically work around 47 hours a week, but I realize that a good portion of that time is spent on tasks that I've already completed. Recently, I applied for a work-from-home position that offers 8% less annual pay but a 10% higher hourly rate along with a bonus scheme, and it only requires 37.5 hours a week. Despite the potential benefits, I’m feeling a lot of anxiety about leaving my team and questioning whether I'm making the right decision. This anxiety is heightened by the fact that I’m generally an anxious person, but I didn't expect to feel this way about such a big change. While I wouldn't say I'm unhappy in my current role, the long hours and limited progression have made me feel somewhat complacent. I usually see others excited about new job opportunities, which only adds to my anxiety because I’m not feeling that same excitement. I'm curious if others have gone through similar feelings when leaving a long-term position or if I'm just overthinking everything.
