I recently had an interview for a role that I was really excited about, but unfortunately, I failed their aptitude test. This was after submitting around 50-60 applications while still working full-time, which has made my job search quite challenging. I finally made it past the AI and ATS screening to get an interview with a recruiter. The company had a 40-question aptitude test that I had to complete in 20 minutes, and I thought I did well, finishing 37 out of 40. However, I received an email stating that I didn’t meet their unknown threshold, and they won’t provide any feedback on my score or areas for improvement. It’s disheartening because the recruiter mentioned I was the strongest candidate she had seen so far. Now, I’m feeling quite unqualified for other positions I’m considering, even though I know I’m capable. The job seemed like a perfect fit for my skills. I just needed to vent a bit about this experience, as each rejection and setback is starting to take a toll on my confidence.
