I worked in North Carolina from March until the end of July, and my job is ending next week due to lack of work. I started receiving my checks in April, but I’m trying to figure out when to apply for unemployment benefits. I understand that North Carolina requires work from two different quarters to qualify. So far, I have earnings from April to June and then July. My main question is about the timing of my application: should I wait until all my earnings are reported by my employer, or can I apply sooner to ensure that both quarters are counted? I'm feeling a bit uncertain about the process.
