After a 7-month job search, I finally received an offer for a position at Company A with a salary of $170k, which allows for 3 days of work from home and has a less stressful job scope. Shortly after, I progressed to the 3rd round of interviews with Company B, where I met with senior leadership. I passed that round and now have a call scheduled with their HRBP to discuss compensation. While I'm interested in validating my market value with Company B, I’m hesitant to proceed further since they only offer 1 day of WFH and have a reputation for poor work-life balance. Unless their offer is significantly higher than what I have from Company A, I’m inclined to decline. I want to approach the compensation discussion carefully to avoid burning any bridges. I’m considering asking for their compensation range upfront to save everyone time, especially since I already have an offer in hand. I just need to figure out how to handle this conversation without jeopardizing future opportunities.
