I recently received an email from a recruiter about a job I interviewed for back in early June. After two months of silence, they informed me that the company initially chose another candidate, but that person ended up declining the offer. Now, they want to interview me again later this week. I'm feeling a bit conflicted about this situation. On one hand, the job pays $6 more than my current position and offers better benefits, including 401k matching, plus it's closer to home. On the other hand, I can't shake the feeling of being 'sloppy seconds' if I get this role. I know the job market is tough, but I'm wondering if I should go for the second interview and see how it goes. I mean, the pay increase is significant, and the role is very similar to what I'm currently doing. I could really use some advice on whether it's worth pursuing this opportunity.
