I’m an 18-year-old looking to gain work experience and explore new places, and Alaska has always intrigued me. Recently, I learned about job opportunities where you can fly to specific regions and work there for a while. I found several positions in Juneau and Girdwood that I might be qualified for, but I’m feeling uncertain about the logistics of living there and whether I’m biting off more than I can chew. Currently, I’m making $10 an hour at Wendy's, which is my first job ever, and I’m struggling with getting my community college to accept my FAFSA. My family doesn’t have a car, and they want me to focus solely on school, so they wouldn’t be thrilled about me going to Alaska. I know I might sound naive, but I really need some advice on how to navigate this situation.
