I'm currently working at a ballot processing center in Los Angeles County on a temporary assignment that started in late September and is expected to end in early December. I'm a full-time employee earning $25.50 per hour. I had been searching for a job for months before landing this position, and now I'm concerned about what happens when my assignment ends. I’ve never dealt with unemployment benefits before since I was a student and only worked part-time previously. I’m trying to figure out if I’ll qualify for unemployment benefits once my job is over and what I need to do to apply.
