  1. 1

I finally made the decision to resign from my logistics job after 10 long years in the field, which includes military, contracting, and federal civilian roles. This past year has been incredibly challenging, and I struggled to find new opportunities. My recent position was absolutely soul-sucking, to the point where I relapsed into alcohol due to the stress. I was having nightmares related to the job, and dealing with a toxic manager who I had to report made it even worse. The workplace itself was in disarray, with mold and a broken-down environment lacking proper AC and heat. Morale was low, with everyone around me complaining about the quality of life. I realized that staying for pay or location in a toxic environment wasn't worth it. I’m now free and considering all my options, even relocating for work. I feel a sense of relief making this choice and am ready to face the challenges ahead without the burden of that draining job.
