I was laid off in October 2023 and spent 22 months searching for a job without much success. I applied to countless positions, constantly worked on improving my resume, and refined how I presented my experience. Despite not having any connections or referrals, I eventually secured a job by simply submitting my application to a company that happened to be looking for someone with my skills. It was a matter of timing and luck, and while I believe networking is important, my experience showed me that it is possible to find a job without relying on LinkedIn or extensive networking.
