I recently learned that my position is about to be eliminated at my company. I found out through some internal notes, which felt really strange. When I approached my manager about it, she reassured me that they are planning to move me to a new role, but I still haven't received official confirmation. It's been over a week since this discussion, and while they have shown me the new job title, the senior director is still in talks with HR. I’m feeling anxious as next Monday, on 9/7, the systems are set to change to the new role. Should I assume I'm fired at this point? I'm trying to stay calm and see how this plays out, but the lack of communication is really bothering me.
