    Feeling Planning Thinking

    I recently learned that my position is about to be eliminated at my company. I found out through some internal notes, which felt really strange. When I approached my manager about it, she reassured me that they are planning to move me to a new role, but I still haven't received official confirmation. It's been over a week since this discussion, and while they have shown me the new job title, the senior director is still in talks with HR. I’m feeling anxious as next Monday, on 9/7, the systems are set to change to the new role. Should I assume I'm fired at this point? I'm trying to stay calm and see how this plays out, but the lack of communication is really bothering me.

    Feeling Planning Thinking

    I recently attended an international training trip for my job, which cost the company around $10,000. My managers invested a lot of time and effort into preparing for this trip, expecting me to take on a key role in troubleshooting during the training. Now, I'm feeling guilty because I've found a new job that I believe I would truly enjoy, in a city I've always wanted to live in, even though it offers a significantly lower salary. I'm torn about whether it would be unethical to leave the company just a month after they made such a large investment in my training. I know companies can be quick to let go of employees, but I'm considering how much notice I should give and whether there are any clauses about having to repay the training costs if I quit soon after. It's a tough decision.
