I recently found out that my position has been reworked after my company was acquired by a larger corporation. I’ve been with the company for a decade, and I’m now at the maximum starting base pay of $65,000, up from $45,000 when I first started. However, I feel frustrated because they just posted a job listing for a new team member at the same max starting pay. My current manager is actually my fifth since I’ve been here, and I’m feeling undervalued, especially after losing our senior lead and three other team members, which has left just two of us to handle the workload. I’m contemplating discussing this situation with my new manager, but I’m unsure if I have any leverage since the acquisition was recent. Part of me thinks it might be better to start looking for a new job instead.
