I’m currently a Senior Product Data Analyst and I’ve been reflecting on the uncertainty of job security in today’s market. With layoffs becoming more common, I’m trying to prepare myself both financially and mentally for the possibility of being laid off. I’ve noticed that many of my colleagues feel similarly anxious, especially with the rapid evolution of technology like AI. It seems like every day there’s a new tool or trend that could potentially make our roles obsolete. To stay relevant, I’m focusing on upskilling in AI, even though my current job doesn’t directly involve it. I’m curious about how others are preparing for potential layoffs. Are people taking courses, working on personal projects, or finding ways to gain real-life AI experience? I feel like I need to be proactive in this environment, but I also wonder how effective these efforts will be in the long run. I’ve been stacking savings and trying to keep my expenses low, but the anxiety of being just another cog in the machine is overwhelming. I’d love to hear how others in similar positions are coping and what steps they’re taking to stay ahead.
