I have been working as a researcher at a university in Ohio for the past six years. Unfortunately, my position is tied to grant funding, and since our grants were not renewed, I will be let go on November 30th. I received a separation memo that clearly states my position is ending due to 'grant expiration,' and the exiting employee checklist also indicates this reason for leaving. I'm trying to determine if I qualify for unemployment benefits in my state. I've read that I might be eligible, but I plan to file and confirm my eligibility soon.
