    Miscellaneous Planning Thinking

    I've been thinking about my job search strategy while working with a staffing agency. Currently, I'm in a position where I need to gain some volunteer experience in political science to help advance my career. In the meantime, I plan to take on temporary jobs to maintain some income. I'm curious about others' experiences—specifically, how many of you continued to look for jobs outside of the staffing agency, especially if the temp job was unrelated to your field? From what I've gathered, it seems like temp work is just a means to an end, and there's no real expectation of loyalty to the agency. I’ve heard that many people keep applying elsewhere while working these temporary positions, which is encouraging. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

    I’ve been applying for jobs in the political science field without much luck, and I’m feeling a bit lost. I really need some guidance on what roles I might qualify for based on my resume. I know there are areas I could improve, like the formatting and even a misspelling of Excel, but I’m not sure how to focus my search effectively. I want to tailor my applications better and highlight the relevant skills and experiences that align with the positions I’m interested in. I’m considering reaching out to professionals in the field and possibly getting a second opinion on my resume. Any advice on how to approach this would be greatly appreciated!
