I recently applied for a dispatcher position in my small town as a stepping stone towards my goal of becoming a police officer. I currently work in a municipal job and was advised that this dispatcher role would provide valuable experience in law enforcement. After submitting my application, I was contacted to complete a background check packet. However, I hit a snag when I reached the questionnaire for my current employer. I've only been in my current position for six months, and I'm uncomfortable asking my manager to fill it out. My previous employer, where I worked for two years, has been unresponsive since I left, so I can't turn to them for help either. I'm unsure how to navigate this questionnaire and whether it's standard to request such information from my current employer for a different job application. Any advice on how to handle this situation would be greatly appreciated.
