I lost my job in February 2026 due to a layoff, and since then, I've been actively searching for new opportunities. I'm continuously upskilling, tweaking my resume, and applying to various positions. It's been challenging, and I'm starting to wonder if the job market is really that bad or if my options are just limited. I’ve seen others in similar situations; one person I spoke to lost their job just three weeks ago and has had a few interviews, but had to decline some offers due to scheduling conflicts or unsatisfactory pay. It's tough knowing that I probably won't find a job that pays as well as my previous role, especially after being with my last company for 15 years in the banking sector.
