I'm currently planning a move to New York to live with my aunt in search of better job opportunities. As a 21-year-old black male, I've been feeling overwhelmed by the job market lately, and it's been affecting my mental health. I've worked in various kitchen roles, including cook, dishwasher, busboy, server, host, and prep cook, but Atlanta just isn't cutting it for me anymore. My fiancée and I are eager to start our life together, and we believe moving to New York could help us achieve that. We're hoping I can secure a job there, save up some money, and eventually bring her along to begin building our future. I'm tired of the constant rejections and being ghosted, and while I know I'm young and have time, I have specific goals I want to pursue. Thank you for reading my story.

I recently received a rejection email for a part-time barista position I applied for at a hotel. This was particularly disheartening because I have prior experience as a barista and have worked in kitchens as well. It's been a tough journey for me, as I haven't had a job in two years and have faced numerous rejections while applying for various roles. I’m only 20 and will be turning 21 in September, and I'm feeling the pressure to find work. I’m genuinely trying my best, but it feels like I'm getting nowhere despite having the skills and determination to succeed. I just want the opportunity to prove myself. Thanks for letting me share my frustrations.

I've been unemployed for almost 2 years now. I'm 20, turning 21 soon, and I've been out of work since I was 19. I had to move, and the job market in my area is really tough; it feels like no one wants to hire. I've applied to countless jobs both locally and out of state, but I've had no luck. My fiancée is even helping me with the job search, but despite submitting so many applications, I keep getting rejected or ghosted. I've tried applying to various places, including restaurants and blue-collar jobs, but nothing seems to work out. It's honestly pretty depressing, but I'm still holding onto my drive and motivation. I just wish someone would give me a chance. August 6th will mark 2 years of being without a job.
