I had a promising opportunity for a sales position at a retail store last week. After two interviews, the general manager expressed that I would be a good fit for the team and mentioned that he would be sending me a job offer soon, pending the decision on which sales department I would be placed in. I felt optimistic and excited about the prospect. However, I woke up today to an email informing me that they have decided to move forward without me. It was incredibly disappointing to go from thinking I had a job lined up to being rejected.
