I was recently laid off from UKG, where I had been working for several months. I thought I was in the clear after the initial round of layoffs a few months ago, and I felt a sense of relief when my team wasn't affected. However, I walked into a meeting and was blindsided by HR, who informed me that I was being laid off without any valid reason given. It was a shocking experience. Shortly after, a friend of mine was also laid off, which further confirmed my concerns about the company's culture. It feels like the company's claims of being 'people first' are just empty words now. I've come to realize that decisions here are not based on performance but rather on visibility and, unfortunately, factors like disability status.
