I received an email about a job I applied for back in July, but I found it odd that the dates mentioned in the email had already passed by the time I received it. I haven't heard back from them since I applied, which makes me skeptical about the legitimacy of this opportunity. The English proficiency site they referenced seems legitimate, and the person who contacted me appears to be real, but I can't shake the feeling that something is off. I'm particularly concerned because I've read that they can't dictate hours for a 1099 contractor, yet that's what they're doing. I'm considering reaching out to the person who emailed me to ask more questions and gauge the situation. Has anyone else experienced something similar? What do you think?
